Twenty years experience in restoration and carving, including an extended period at Atelier Goujon (the premier restoration workshop of period gilded furniture in Paris), now gives me the opportunity to offer you my choice of reproduction european period & contemporary mirrors. These frames are hand carved in solid limewood, watergilded using only 23 ¾ carat double thickness gold leaf. Watergilding as opposed to oil gilding is by far the more time consuming and skilled process of laying gold/silver leaf on a gesso plaster coating on top of wood whereby greater volume & contrast is created between the flatter matt gold & the brighter highlighted gold areas. It is the difference between a cheap copy and an authentic reproduction.

I also am able to offer French 18th century quality reproduction chairs & armchairs. Consoles & tables are available as well. I use only the best materials & all carving is done by hand. Furthermore, we at Best Mirrors undertake to construct any mirror or furniture design of your choosing, within certain constraints, at a fair price.
